Summary
- The protagonist has to help Harry, a depressed alcoholic, regain his life by surrounding him with his daughter Connor and his work.
- Whilst Harry maintains sobriety in front of his adored daughter, he reverts back to drinking at home and becomes bedridden when not visiting them.
- In order to engage Harry, the protagonist looks for a script for them to work on that includes a great role for herself as she believes Harry wouldn't commit to something unless it benefits her.
- They settle on Max Girard's script, 'All for Us', a tale of a single mother moving to NYC to support her family and pursue her dreams.
- Harry is drawn into the project when the protagonist suggests it will win her an Oscar. Filming the movie helps Harry become active again.
- Several months pass and the film is a success, leading to an Oscars nomination for the protagonist and both attend the event with Girard and his date.
- The protagonist feels close to both Harry and Girard, whom she's beginning to feel a bond with, despite him having a date to the Oscars. The three of them are seated together in the first row.
- Connor, watching the event from the hotel, presents Harry and the protagonist with drawings for luck, which they carry with them.
- During the event, the protagonist wins the Best Actress award and gives an acceptance speech thanking everyone involved in her career, highlighting the importance of Girard and Harry.
