CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

Summary

• The female protagonist and her companions arrive at a forward outpost that they traveled to on dragons.
• They meet the outpost commander, who welcomes them and tells them that they can rest before they're shown around the outpost.
• Rhiannon, one of the protagonist's companions, reveals that her village is less than an hour away by foot, and asks the protagonist to not disclose this information to anyone and figure out together how they can visit her village.
• They are given a tour of the outpost, during which, the protagonist crosses paths with Mira, a familiar face she hasn't seen in months.
• The protaganist and Rhiannon plan a secret visit to Rhiannon's village.
• Mira catches them trying to sneak out, but instead of stopping them, she decides to accompany them after a bit of persuasion.
• The trio arrive at Rhiannon's family's house and share a few moments together. The protagonist convinces Mira to show them a book that they'd left back at home when Mira talks about how she'd saved it.
• As they leave, they run into Xaden, another character from their past.
