Summary

• The White Witch enters the port just before noon, with a missing mainsail and damage from a storm
• Brock arrives on a launch and confronts the first officer, Michaelmans, about the damage
• Brock punches Michaelmans and orders the second officer, Pennyworth, to take command
• Brock dismissively turns his back on Culum and goes into the cabin, closing the door behind him, leaving Culum and Tess outside
• Tess refuses to go home with Brock and he threatens to disinherit her
• Brock storms off the ship
• Struan has returned to Hong Kong and is now Tai-Pan (chief executive) of Noble House
• May-May is upset that Struan did not come to her immediately upon arriving in Hong Kong
