Summary

• Construction of various buildings is taking place in the Valley of Happiness.
• Struan meets with Sarah, who tells him that Karen has died but their child, Lochlin, is alive.
• Struan offers to take Sarah and Lochlin back to Scotland, but Sarah declines.
• Struan goes to see Brock and discusses the unrest in Hong Kong and the possibility of a war with China. He suggests they leave Hong Kong and return to Scotland, but Brock refuses.
• Struan goes to see Mauss and asks him to come to Scotland with him, but Mauss declines.
• Struan goes to see Culum and suggests they leave Hong Kong, but Culum refuses.
• Struan begins packing his things in his office.
