Summary

• May-May is weak and vulnerable with a high fever and is delirious for four hours
• Struan tries to comfort May-May, but she does not hear or recognize him
• The fever passes and May-May falls into a deep sleep
• When May-May wakes up, she is tired but relieved and reassures Struan that she will recover
• Struan has anxious dreams and when he wakes up, May-May is better
• Struan and May-May talk and Struan leaves to attend to business
• When Struan returns, May-May is awake and they talk more

• Struan visits the bishop at his residence and discusses business in Hong Kong
