Summary
- The wind changes direction to the east, signaling the start of typhoon season
- News of Struan's ball spreads throughout the fleet, causing concern among the husbands
- Elisa suggests that she and Brock attend the ball and wear their best clothes to show Struan that they are not intimidated
- Brock agrees and decides to bring a bar of silver as a gift for Struan
- The ship is stuck on rocks and pirates board the ship
- The pirates are armed with muskets, knives, and swords, and some of them are European
- The pirates attack the crew and fight to take control of the ship
