Cameron aches from chopping bait at the aquarium and sleeping on plywood after tossing his reeking camper mattress. Nearly out of cash until his first paycheck, he drives to a local real estate office to pursue a lead on Simon Brinks.

In the office, Cameron charms and manipulates realtor Jessica Snell, hinting he may be Brinks’s son and that his mother abandoned him. While Jessica searches a regional convention directory, Avery from the neighboring paddle shop storms in to complain about lowered water temperature. After Avery leaves, Jessica returns with an address for Simon Brinks and wishes Cameron luck.

Cameron follows Avery to her shop to smooth things over. She calls out his tactics but softens when he admits he’s looking for his father. Avery gives him a natural balm for his neck pain and her number, saying she’s a “sucker for injured creatures.” Cameron leaves with both Brinks’s address and a new connection.

Back at Ethan’s, Cameron calls the airline about his missing duffel. A baggage agent reports it has been misrouted to Naples, Italy and transfers the claim to a European partner. The news offers direction but compounds Cameron’s stress and urgency as he juggles debt, a fragile job, and the renewed pursuit of his father.
