Nothing Stays Sunk Forever
Summary
- Tova is having her hair serviced at Colette's Beauty Shop, where she discusses her brother Lars's peaceful passing with Barbara Vanderhoof. Tova regrets that Barb always seems to turn conversations towards herself, despite her limited connection to Lars.
- Tova hadn't discussed her visit to Lars' care facility in Bellingham with anyone, she accidentally reveals during conversation that she went up to retrieve his things. This is new information to Barb, and leads to a tangent discussion about the luxury amenities at the facility.
- Later at the aquarium where Tova works, Terry offers condolences about her brother's passing and asks a favor of her. He requests that she wipe down the front windows today for the upcoming Fourth of July crowd. Tova agrees, appreciating the shift in conversation.
- Terry reveals that he has been struggling with a bit of a mystery at the aquarium. Marcellus, the Giant Pacific Octopus, has somehow been escaping and frankly, eating the other animals. Terry reveals plans to secure the enclosure with a heavy clamp once he's bought some wood to cover the tank's back.
- Tova enters the room with the octopus tank expecting to catch Marcellus trying to escape. Instead, Marcellus, upon seeing Tova, shows her the escape route he's been using, but stays in his tank. Tova allows Marcellus to interact with her and pulls off his tank's lid, removing what small barrier between them.
- Tova and Marcellus bond, with Marcellus "offering" Tova her lost house key as a peace offering.
