Chapter LI

Summary

• The protagonist observes the crowd during a festival, noting an increase in aggression before meeting up with Aequa, Scitus, and others.
• The protagonist follows Relucia and overhears her meeting with a stranger. They speak of a potential weapon and the stranger shows Relucia his ability to vanish and reappear quickly.
• As he roams the festival, the protagonist realizes he is being followed by two aggressive men. When confrontation is inevitable, he manages to fight them off but is soon restrained.
• Aequa and Scitus arrive to stop the fight. Aequa admits she arranged the fight in the hope that the protagonist would use Will, a forbidden power, in the struggle. As he didn't use it, she apologizes for the misunderstanding.
• The protagonist is angry at Aequa for not trusting him, however, they put their disagreement aside and return to the Academy with Scitus.
• Back at the Academy, Scitus starts to give the protagonist more attention during their studies, while Aequa distances herself from him.
• The break trimester arrives and the protagonist joins the Thirds for a trip to Suus.
