In this chapter of Brew Your Own War, the protagonist, Livira, uses her skills to make a covert mission inside a heavily-protected, secret library within a library, run by head librarian Yamala.
She almost gets caught by a woman who enters the library, but manages to hide behind a door just in time.
After the woman leaves, unable to open the locked door leading to Yamala's library, Livira picks the lock and enters a treasure trove of valuable, rare books.
There, she finds and steals a specific, iron-bound book that she was searching for.
As Livira leaves, she encounters an enormous, ghost-like black dog that she recognizes as a guide from a myth.
The dog eerily follows her, but obediently returns to the library when called by Yamala.
Livira escapes and returns to her quarters, where she surprisingly finds a group of female friends gathered, discussing men, relationships, and gossip.
During the conversation, they compare men to books and question the seemingly mysterious nature of the library.
Carlotte, one of her friends, suggests that the library is like a well-constructed lock, requiring significant effort to navigate and fully comprehend.
The chapter ends with Livira discovering the same black dog in her bedroom, patiently waiting for her.
