Chapter 65
Summary
- In this chapter, Livira has a confrontation in a dusty library with Evar.
- After a scuffle, Evar loses grip of the book he was trying to take from Livira, and the book falls to the ground. A projectile then almost hits Livira, who barely avoids it.
- You experience a flashback to her traumatic past, where she got lost in a similar dust cloud during a dangerous event. She remembers trying to cling to her aunt's hand as she felt her life change dramatically.
- Just as she's questioning her reality, Livira is whisked into the air by Evar.
- Evar checks on her anxiously, asking if she's been hit. Livira assures him that she's okay. She begins to ponder on the book that caused all this commotion, realizing that it possesses special properties.
- According to Livira, the book made her solid in their world. It also seems to contain the future. She suspects Evar might have read future stories that she has yet to write herself.
- Livira concludes that Evar must've read something that she hasn't written yet because of how he reacted when she nearly dropped the book. She realizes that whatever Evar read that hasn't been written yet still needs to be written so that the timeline doesn't unravel.
- Meanwhile, the chaos subdues and a familiar voice calls out to Livira. It belongs to a man named Malar who seems relieved to see her safe.
- During the confusion, a figure called Carlotte is discovered to be hidden amongst their adversaries.
- Evar points out that they can't help Carlotte as they're unable to do anything in their current corporeal state. Even if they could get her away from the group, escaping through the portal in the fire would be too dangerous.
- Even though they're unable to help directly, Livira is comforted by the fact that the sabbers would likely protect Carlotte while she's useful to them, just like they did with her.
- Feeling helpless but knowing there's nothing more to do, Livira leaves with her companions, leaving Carlotte behind with the sabbers and the book.
