Chapter 47

Summary

• Livira and Evar fly together, though Livira is faster. The experience makes Evar feel incredibly free and joyous.
• While in the air, Evar sees what he thinks might be children moving about in the city, but when he lands to join Livira, he finds no one there. This suggests the city might be abandoned or in ruins.
• Livira and Evar decide to enter a large, ornate building. Inside, Evar is overwhelmed by the beauty and design of the architecture, and the two deduce that it must be some sort of temple.
• As Evar takes in the grandeur of the space and contemplates its creators, he becomes aware of Livira standing very close to him. He is attracted to her and becomes nervous.
• Despite his nervousness, he manages to thank her for teaching him to fly. However, he feels awkward and attempts to turn away.
• Livira pulls Evar into a kiss, dismissing his awkwardness. Evar finds the kiss much simpler and better than he could have imagined.
