Chapter 63

Summary

• Livira calls out for Volente, a dog, to track Arpix or Meelan who is carrying a book, 'A History of the Gratatack Cavern Wars, Volume Six, by Sscythic Twenty-Nine.'
• Volente leads them deeper and deeper into the library from chamber to chamber to Chamber 29.
• The trio walks faster and soon they outrun the fire which was spreading in the library. They cross a forbidden chamber called the Chamber of Ruin.
• Moving ahead, they observe a group of Canith who had stormed the city and fought King Oanold’s retreating soldiers and set the library on fire. Livira remembers one of them from her childhood.
• They encounter a priest among the Canith who seems to have the ability to see Livira. This shocks Livira.
• Evar flies in the air to distract the Canith, but they keep staring at Livira.
• Evar deduces that the priest is actually seeing a book, not Livira. When Livira pulls out her book, the Canith react in surprise and fear.
• Evar crashes into Livira in the middle of the chaos to help her.
