When the assistant moves to return the volume, Livira argues that someone needs to read it and persuades him to return the other copy instead. He explains the chamber’s central area heals recent injuries and, when Livira reports a damaged grey assistant, hints that some believe the library exists to refight an ancient war. He then points her to an exit route.

Livira navigates the twisting aisles, reaches the corridor guarded by the silent metal man with skeletal wings, and passes through the dissolving white door into the final chamber. Racing time and exhaustion, she follows her marked path toward the stair and exit. At the top, two guards help her up and report no recent traffic, offering no sign of her companions. Determined not to fail at the threshold, she pushes on to the main complex.

Too spent to continue, Livira collapses to sleep—unknowingly in Arpix’s room—and wakes stiff and starving. Confirming the book is safe, she rushes through the refectory to class. Her teammates, grey with fatigue, stare in shock at her arrival.

As Master Logaris demands his book, Arpix begins to shoulder blame for delays. Livira backs him, credits his idea to search the hidden index, and slides Reflections under the table to him. Arpix produces it, and Logaris, delighted and surprised by mention of the Lost Seam, locks the book away. He praises the team and affirms their places in his class.
