Summary

• The protagonist originally believed she was working with Kyle to find Emmy, but now feels they've turned on her, wanting to pry through Emmy's life as if she has something to hide.

• The protagonist reveals to Emmy that she thinks her friend Paige's boyfriend Aaron had drugged her at some point in the past. This was the reason the protagonist had left Paige’s place to stay with Emmy.
• The protagonist is left anxious and angry when Aaron and Paige show up at their new place weeks later. Aaron smiles, acting completely normal as if the protagonist has no proof of what he did.
• Police conduct a thorough search of Emmy and the protagonist's home, looking for a specific type of knife they think was used to kill James Finley.

• Frustrated, the protagonist retreats to the front porch where she notices a number of onlookers watching the search unfold.
