Chapter Eighty-Five

Summary

• Bryce was trying to make sure that everyone in Asphodel Meadows got into a shelter before they all closed as demons attacked.
• She managed to fend off several attacking demons before her rifle ran out of ammunition.
• A giant demon attacked her, but before it could kill her, one of the Viper Queen’s Fae bodyguards stepped in and killed it. More Fae guards arrived to help, along with wolves and other animal shifters.
• As Bryce fought alongside the shifters, her friend Ithan arrived and came to her aid. They fought together side by side, trying to keep everyone safe.
• When it was time for the shelter doors to close, Bryce and Ithan were too far away to make it in. At the last minute, Bryce used her strength to push Ithan inside, leaving herself outside the shelter when the doors closed.
• Bryce had no idea what to do next, as more demons were coming and she was now stuck outside of the shelter.
• She decided to try and make it to her apartment, hoping that its enchantments could provide her with protection against the demons. She ran through the city, fighting off any attacking demons as best she could.
• However, a demon attacked her, knocking her into a car. She managed to escape, but two more demons started racing towards her. Bryce was alone and didn't know what to do next as the light began to fade.
