Chapter Fifty-Three

Summary

• Bryce gets up to rainy weather and takes her pet, Syrinx, for a walk outside despite the heavy rain. She notices a hoptoad that seems to be following them.
• When she returns home, Hunt is cooking breakfast. They've been noticing each other’s eating habits and are seemingly concerned about each other’s health.
• They talk about the clothes brought in for analysis by Viktoria. It’s revealed that Hunt had asked for a Mimir tech from the Fae to be used for the analysis. The clothes belong to Danika.
• Bryce takes photos of her breakfast, Hunt, and Syrinx, and posts them. She feels a little lighter than she has been feeling.
• Hunt hands over the clothes to Viktoria and requests her not to lose them. He also asks her to look for specific traces on them, the mention of which seems to frighten Viktoria. They fear that a dreaded demon might have come to Midgard.
• That evening, Hunt and Bryce watch a reality TV show about young Vanir at a beach club together, which seems to bring them closer.
• The next morning, Hunt receives a call from Micah asking him to join him in his office. Bryce is not invited.
