Chapter Thirty-Six

Summary

• Hunt Athalar and Bryce Quinlan visit a shooting range in Moonwood in the middle of the night to meet and discuss something in private.
• They meet with Lord Tristan Flynn, Danaan, and Declan Emmet who are all practicing their shooting skills; Flynn and Ruhn make a bet on whether Flynn will be able to successfully hit a target, which he ultimately wins.
• Bryce asks Declan to analyse footage from Luna's Temple, specifically the night the Horn was stolen, hoping his tech skills will uncover something the authorities missed at the time. He agrees, though warns he may not find anything new.
• Bryce warns Ruhn Flynn to keep their conversation and investigation quiet, implying they may incriminate the Autumn King. Ruhn is reluctant but doesn't outright refuse.
• Ruhn challenges Bryce to a shooting competition, with which she obliges and successfully shoots three bullets through the same hole. Hunt then takes his shot and perfectly matches Bryce's, confirming his skills and raising a spark between them.
• The meeting is interrupted by a call to Hunt from Isaiah Tiberian, notifying them of another murder they must investigate.
